Mitchell’s incorporating Mitchell Design and Construct Ltd, Mitchell Design and Construction Ltd and Mitchell Special Projects Ltd is operated by it’s three directors Peter Mitchell, Duncan Archer and Julian Mitchell. The head office is located in Brentwood, Essex.

Meet the Directors
Peter Mitchell
Peter commenced his career with Austin Engineers Ltd, a design builder from Austin, Texas, who came to the UK in the early 1960’s to provide design and build construction to American companies and their UK subsidiaries.
From there he moved to a pre-engineered building systems manufacturer (Cosley Buildings Ltd in Wolverhampton) and sold pre-engineered building systems throughout Europe, Africa and the Middle East. This was where he became aware of the Butler Building System and joined the UK operation of Butler Building Products Ltd, which subsequently led to him joining a design builder with the Butler franchise as Sales Director. Peter predominantly operates Mitchell Design and Construct Ltd and consults on the other businesses when required.
Duncan Archer
Duncan joined John Laing Construction Ltd in 1979. He was involved in the site management of various projects ranging from small to multi-million pound developments, with much experience on shopping centre design and build projects. He left John Laing Construction in 1988 to join Provincial & Capital Estates Ltd, a development company, as Contracts Manager. In 1990 Duncan joined Mitchell Design and Construct Ltd as Senior Projects Manager and was promoted to Contracts Director in 1993. In 2022 Duncan became Managing Director of Mitchell Design and Construction and Mitchell Special Projects.
Julian Mitchell
Julian started his career in surveying in central London in 1995 working for Edward Symmons Ltd as a general practice surveyor. He has a wealth of experience in the property industry having qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 1998 whilst working with Healey and Baker Ltd in their Hanover Square office. His experience ranges from general practice agency and professional work through to specialising in the provision of development and letting advice to clients such as Palmer Capital Ltd, Land Securities and British Land on large mixed use schemes. His particular interest was in the leisure sector and focused on these end users. Julian joined Mitchell’s in 2005 as Marketing Director to assist in augmenting the number of successful contracts. This continues predominantly across Mitchell Design and Construction and Special Projects.
